The project included the construction of Kharas–Halhul road (7.4km). This new constructed road will divert all local traffic away from the existing narrow road along Kharas, Nuba and Beit Awa cities. This road network currently constructed will shorten the travel times between Kharas and Halhul by 20 minutes, improving the economical conditions of the area. (Population 80,000) The construction work on Kharas –Halhul Road also included leveling (vertical/horizontal) and compaction of the existing sub-grade layer, then laying sub-base material (20cm) and then laying of base-course (20cm). Pavement resurfacing consisted of asphalt concrete pavement (5m width) of wearing course (7cm). The road was provided with traffic signage, safety markings, lane marking, repair of existing stonewalls and drainage improvement.
