The project includes the reconstruction and rehabilitation of 10.0 km of Jenin-Arabah Road on Highway 60.


The width of the existing road is 10.0 m including the road asphalt and paved shoulders, the road was severely damaged due to the lack of maintenance, drainage maintenance and sub grade failure along this section of highway.

 

The road works start at the Jenin Southern entrance towards Arabah intersection in the South.


 This road currently serves all the population of Jenin, Nablus, Tulkarem, Qalqilya and Tubas Districts (Population 500,000).

 

 The rehabilitation work on Jenin-Arabah road includes excavating the existing damaged highway to a depth below the existing sub-base layer, then laying selected material (20cm), sub-base material (20cm) and then layering base-course (20cm) approximately 9.0km.

 

The second section of 1.6km requires rehabilitation of the existing surface, which will be patching and leveling, milling and overlaying the existing pavement.


The pavement resurfacing consisted of asphalt concrete pavement (10m width) of wearing course (7cm). The road was provided with traffic signage, safety markings, lane marking and drainage improvements.
