SAK had completed the construction of the Jafa street .The project included sewer replacement and road resurfacing of Java street and portions of Port Said, Karkash and other streets in the city of Gaza.

This portion of the work was part of a major project for the rehabilitation and expansion of the Gaza wastewater and storm water system funded by USAID and managed by Metcalf and Eddy international.

The project included the installation of sewer line with diameters from 200-600 mm which included excavations of up to 7 meters in depth in narrow roads.

Reconstruction of streets road ways of approximately 2 km long including all related curbs, interlock tiles, and side walks were part of the duty.

A concrete storm water line of 1.25 meter in diameter was installed as part of this project. Water lines (500 meter long) with a diameter of 200mm were also installed.

In this project, we had to replace damaged existing sewer lines, while pumping the sewage from manhole to manhole.

The sewage had to be diverted while working 24 hours shifts.
